A school superintendent in Rhode Island is trying to fix an abysmally bad school system. - Her plan calls for teachers at a local high school to work 25 minutes longer per day, eat lunch with students once in a while, and help with tutoring.  The teachers’ union has refused to accept these apparently onerous demands. [And so they were fired!]

Now, I thought that the Obama Administration was all about the “humane” treatment of the terrorists being held at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility? Right? I mean, wasn’t Obama all we-weed up that the treatment that prisoners get in the Guantanamo facility is equal to “torture”?

Last week, with comparatively little fanfare, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave away a hundred billion dollars at the bogus “Climate Summit” in Copenhagen. The sum is nearly unfathomable. It is more than four times greater than the total expended during the 1960s to put a man on the moon.

I have to admit it. I am jealous of former Vice President Al Gore. I want what he’s got, at least in a generalized way. 

Democrat Representative John Conyers, husband of the corrupt and convicted former Detroit councilwoman Monica Conyers, has actually said something that makes sense.  It is a rare moment indeed for the often bumbling Congressman who I suspect on more than one occasion has had trouble dressing himself because someone wrote “left” on his right shoe, replaced the Velcro with actual laces that needed tied and moved his shirt to where his pants usually are hung while moving his pants to the location usually reserved for his shirt.  The man just strikes me as that incompetent.  But then again, he is a Congressman and I have to keep reminding myself that expecting intelligence from a career politician is like expecting to come home and finding my dog reading Plato’s “Republic” and sipping Cognac.
