Big Brother Dr. Yaron Brook

Good For The Country by John Longenecker: D.C.’S GUN BAN IS ITSELF BANNED!
Big Brother John Longenecker

The week of March 9th, 2007, the Court Of Appeals tossed out the Washington, D.C. gun ban and declared it unconstitutional.

Remember The Liberty?…Israel Hopes You Don’t
Big Brother Dave Gibson

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the attack on the USS Liberty. Most people have never heard of the U.S. Navy reconnaissance ship nor the names of the 34 sailors who lost their lives in the attack. Most people would also be shocked to know that it was our ‘friend’ Israel that was responsible for the unprovoked and criminal act. While the government of Israel as well as our own have done their best to cover up the murder of our sailors, their story is one that must be heard.

AP and Reuters On The D.C. Gun Ban Reversal
Big Brother Warner Todd Huston

On Friday, Judge Laurence Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that the city of Washington D.C. could not ban its citizens from owning firearms because such a ban violates the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

‘Who Is Gouging Whom?’
Big Brother David Holcberg

Last Wednesday 79 members of the House of Representatives introduced a bill instituting criminal and civil penalties on any corporation or individual found guilty of gasoline “price gouging.” But the real gouger driving up gasoline prices is not the private sector, it is our government.

Forgetful Moments and Forgotten Justice
Big Brother Brad Snyder

Memphis Youth Pastor, Stephen McKim, yet another victim of justice-gone-crackers was approved for “application” to “Pre-trial diversion” on Tuesday, March 6, by the supreme court of the state of Tennessee.  District Attorney Bill Gibbons in essence said he was disappointed that Rev. McKim wouldn’t have to go to jail.  The questions to be asked are: What was his alleged crime, what is pre-trial diversion, and why was the case caught up in the state’s supreme court?

Transfer of Wealth
Big Brother Larry Pratt

In a just society, wealth is transferred in exchange for money, for
service or by gift.  Unjust forms of transferring wealth occur by
means of the thug on the street or the bureaucrat who takes one’s
property.  Examples of the latter would even include zoning regulations
intended to keep property from being developed by the owner for his
profit.

‘Are Businesses Slaves to Consumers?’
Big Brother Dr. Yaron Brook

Irvine, CA--Few eyebrows were raised when FCC chairman Kevin Martin said recently that Sirius and XM will only be permitted to merge if they can “demonstrate that consumers would clearly be better off--with both more choice and affordable prices.” But “Sirius and XM have every moral right to combine companies and, if the new company judges it profitable, to raise prices,” said Dr. Yaron Brook.

Preventing Mergers Destroys Competition
Big Brother Alex Epstein

Irvine, CA--Opponents of a planned merger between XM Satellite Radio Inc. and Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. are asking the government to block the merger in order to “preserve competition” in satellite radio.

Echoes of 1929?
Big Brother Thomas Brewton

Tuesday’s big drop in stock market averages and questionable financial market conditions bear an uncomfortable resemblance to the stock market crash of 1929 and the Great Depression of the 1930s.

RFID Now Silencing Opposing Views
Big Brother John Longenecker

In a recent report at SearchSecurity.com, one Chip Maker reportedly pressured away from debate and exhibition a demonstration of how the Flea - the microscopic RFID Chip you don’t want on you - can be cloned.

‘What did the Justice Department Hide from the 9/11 Commission?’
Big Brother Tom Fitton

When the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released a report(1) in January providing new details of Sandy Berger’s theft and destruction of classified documents from the National Archives, among those outraged by the revelations were members of the 9/11 Commission.  Why?  Because at the time of the incident, which took place during the 9/11 Commission hearings, the Justice Department failed to provide the full breadth of evidence against Berger.  (You will likely recall that Berger, Clinton’s former National Security Advisor, was “preparing” for his testimony before the 9/11 Commission related to the Clinton administration’s failed anti-terrorism polices when the scandal took place.)

Do We Have a Right to Hate?
Big Brother Selwyn Duke

Former NBA star Tim Hardaway made waves on the airwaves recently by remarking that he hated homosexuals.  It became the story du jour the next day, prompting the obligatory posturing and feigned outrage.  Pundit Bill O’Reilly said (I’m paraphrasing), “We can’t have this in America,” although at least he was sincere.

In 2008:  Try This Pilot Program: Repeal All Gun Laws For Five Years
Big Brother John Longenecker

Given the successes of those states issuing concealed carry permits to citizens, I suggest a nationwide pilot program: the repeal of all anti-gun laws - all 22,000 of them - for a period of five years. This includes a moratorium on all new gun laws for five years, and suspension of all court cases pending for weapons charges with the exception of violent crimes involving a gun. Owning a certain kind of rifle is considerably different from holding up a liquor store with a gun.

TOBACCO REGULATION SMOKE-SCREEN
Big Brother Chuck Muth

Have you ever seen anyone sit down at the breakfast table and pour themselves a big ol’ bowl of cigarettes?  Of course not.  Why not?  Because cigarettes aren’t food, that’s why.
