On August 6, 1945, in order to end the war with the Empire of Japan, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, thus launching the atomic age. The Japanese warlords did not respond with a notice of surrender, so the U.S. dropped a second atomic bomb on Nagasaki. Japan surrendered unconditionally.

The popular phrase used to describe John McCain’s presidential aspirations has been the “Straight Talk Express”. According to the popular myth, John McCain “tells it like it is” and lets you know exactly where he stands. Those that have bought into this myth have flocked to John McCain as someone they can trust. Others have been scared onto his campaign, accepting him as by far the lesser of two evils.

Thanks to Matt Drudge, Jesse Jackson’s disparaging comments about Barack Obama have become national news. Who benefits? Obama. It makes Obama look like a moderate, compared to the disgraced, discredited and venomous Jackson. But this doesn’t mean, by any stretch of the imagination, that Jackson, a failed black presidential candidate, will cease to be a national black “leader” and spokesman. Remember this is a “Reverend” who has survived the embarrassment of fathering a child out of wedlock. 

For the first time in American history two sitting U.S. Senators will battle for the presidency on November 4, 2008. Barack Obama, Jr. Senator from Illinois and John McCain the GOP’s Senior Senator from Arizona are the top contenders in a race unlike any other in history.

Harlingen, Texas, July 8, 2008:  When I view what is happening to America during this presidential election campaign, I can’t help but feel our country is headed toward one of those failed marriages we all know occur all too frequently.

At a fundamental level, elections hinge upon the most trusted intuitions voters have about their candidate’s character. In most cases these intuitions are seldom aligned with the truth, as they are loosely based on external appearances and whatever the media chooses to put on its daily feed. Nevertheless, the labeling of a candidate that gains the most currency - in other words, the one that sticks - is the one that, given enough circumstantial evidence to support its tenuous correspondence with reality, will play a significant role in determining either victory or defeat for that candidate. 

Barack Obama’s patriotic tour has run into a snag. More evidence of communist backing for the candidate has surfaced. The latest to emerge publicly in Obama’s camp is Joelle Fishman, the chairman of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) Political Action Commission. In a column titled, “Big political shifts are underway,” Fishman says that Obama could lead “a landslide defeat of the Republican ultra-right” this November and that he is “ready to listen” to the “left and progressive voters” backing him. Fishman makes it clear that the CPUSA is part of this coalition.

On June 19th this year the Chicago Tribune’s ‘Exploring Race’ Forum mourned the “lingering misconceptions among some “working-class white voters"” regarding Barack Hussein Obama’s Muslim background. Can Obama “embrace the Muslim community and still gain favor among those working-class (white) voters?” the Tribune worried.
