Obama Fever: Catch It
Elections Andy Selepak

It looks like Obama fever is starting to infect conservatives. The April 9, 2007 issue of Time magazine features an article by William Kristol, a conservative Republican, comparing Senator Barack Obama to Democratic Party icon Bobby Kennedy.

Buy me a gun, Rudy
Elections Bruce Walker

There is a lot of good in Rudy.  He would make a much better president than any Democrat.  But, as his presidential bid begins to wilt, it is obvious that there are a lot of problems with Rudy.

Judicial Watch-Zogby poll: 45% of Likely Voters Concerned about Clinton Corruption
Elections Tom Fitton

Last week, we held a well-attended press conference at the National Press Club to announce the results of an important new poll conducted by Judicial Watch in partnership with Zogby International.  The topic?  The American people’s attitudes towards the Clintons and corruption.

Tennessee Volunteer
Elections Bruce Walker

Surely one of the hardest things about politics today for conservatives is the way in which the Left destroys anyone who stands in its way.  President Bush has bungled things, but to question the decency and the sincerity of the man, the tactic of the Left, is obscene.

Does Hillary Clinton Pass the Kitchen Test?
Elections Carey Roberts

Just because she has assembled a well-oiled political machine and holds a commanding lead over the rest of the pack, doesn’t mean Hillary Clinton should go out and order the invitation cards for the inauguration ball. No, not by a long shot.

‘Just an Actor’ Drumbeat Begins Against Fred Thompson
Elections Warner Todd Huston

I have been waiting for the MSM to start the drumbeat against Fred Thompson that they so often and so boringly used (and still do) against Ronald Reagan; the refrain of “He’s just an actor” Now, Rebecca Sinderbrand of the New York Observer has used the general theme for her latest piece, The Mysterious Appeal of Fred Thompson(1). Subtitled “Actor, Senator, presidential candidate… but what G.O.P. gap is he filling?”, Sinderbrand makes liberal use of Thompson’s “roles” as a foil for his seriousness as a candidate and seems to be saying that the only reason anyone is considering him is because he looks the part as a result of his “camera presence”.

Why Fred Thompson’s Day Has Arrived
Elections Christopher G. Adamo

It is altogether unfortunate that even now, in early 2007, so much focus and
attention is being directed at the 2008 presidential election. America’s
policy making apparatus would be better served, were the Democrats who
constitute the Congressional “ruling class” more concerned with the
well-being of the nation, and not so fixated on their noxious pursuit of
political power.

Barack Obama: Race versus Substance
Elections Greg C. Reeson

Much of the hype about whether Barack Obama was “black enough” for the African-American community had died down when reports began to surface that the Reverend Al Sharpton had complained about Obama’s “blackness.” Specifically, the reports alleged, Sharpton was concerned that Obama had never been active in the black community and that his campaign was largely driven by white Americans.

Hillary’s Bitter Pill: Women Can’t Stand Her
Elections Carey Roberts

Hillary Clinton’s polling numbers are tumbling, but the real shocker is how poorly she is faring with the female electorate. According to the recent Rasmussen poll, 43% of women say they will not vote for Hillary. And the latest poll by John Zogby reported an almost identical number - 42% of women would not vote for Mrs. Clinton under any circumstances.

Fred Thompson and Supreme Court Nominations
Elections Bruce Walker

Anyone who reads my articles by now knows that I believe that Fred Thompson is the next Ronald Reagan, that he will enter the Republican nomination process, that he will walk away with the nomination (just as Reagan did in 1980), and that he will waltz through the general election.  Having a strong president during our long war on terror is one of the two critical reasons to have a conservative Republican in the White House.

Look in More Places for the ‘Reagan’ Model
Elections Kevin Roeten

Lately there is much written about finding a clone of “Ronald Reagan” to lead the country for the next presidential nomination. Many are convinced that with the exception of the prospect of Fred Thompson coming into the fray, there is no one nomination that could convey true Republican ideals. Up to now, that someone espousing ‘Gipper’ ideals is missing. Well that person is already here - but it’s not Thompson.

Yes, the Next Reagan
Elections Bruce Walker

Two months ago, I wrote an article, “The Next Reagan,” in which I outlined many of the reasons why Fred Thompson will be the next Ronald Reagan.  Events since then have confirmed my arguments.  I predict that Fred Thompson will enter the Republican nomination, that he will win it fairly easily, and that he will also defeat Hillary comfortably in the presidential election.  Why?

Fred Thompson:  Neocon Globalist
Elections Basil Harrington

For the past few days, movement “conservatives” and GOP cheerleaders have been ecstatic that Fred Thompson, former Senator from Tennessee, may form an exploratory committee to seek the GOP nomination for president.  “Now we’ll have a conservative in there,” said one person, who, I assume, has no idea what a real conservative is.

Hillary Headed for a Britney-Style Meltdown?
Elections Carey Roberts

A few weeks ago Hillary Rodham Clinton surprised a San Francisco audience with the announcement, “I’m not running as a woman candidate.” But then HRC had a change of heart, and on March 6 she unveiled her “I Can Be President” effort designed to appeal to women.
