With the Democratic Party primaries over, American voters can focus on issues of political substance. For instance: How do the two leading candidates for U.S. president differ in their approach to Israel and related topics? Parallel interviews with journalist Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic, who spoke in early May with Democrat Barack Obama and in late May with Republican John McCain, offer some important insights.

The Presidential Candidates are spewing enough hot air to actually temporarily stifle the current global cooling cycle.  And the BS and general fabrications get more expansive as each day passes.

John McCain wants Americans to elect him to provide tough leadership in a dangerous world. But when it just takes some mud slung from a few left-wing websites to drive him under a rock, you have to wonder.

As the no-holds-barred battle for the Democratic presidential nomination mercifully nears an end, renewed attention is being focused on the several John McCains bearing the Republican armor. Having written that I cannot vote for Barack Obama because he is an extremist on abortion who refused to save even a sudden live baby resulting from a botched abortion, I also have concerns about the consistency of some of McCain’s positions.

As a second rate Progressive Socialist Presidential wannabe, how can you “demand” that your wife who is very actively campaigning for you is excluded from political comment?

The hopelessly misnamed People for the American Way cited me as a notable holdout among “right-wing activists” tripping over themselves to fall in line with the Republican presidential candidate.

Harlingen, Texas, May 16, 2008:  Well, my last fill-up of gas only took $60 out of my wallet.  And, I still had about four gallons in the tank when I turned on the pump.  It made me very angry and I made my feelings known to a lot of people.  Roaring about the high price of gasoline and oil seems to be the only topic of conversation these days.  You hear it at work, at home, after church and in the barbershop.  It leads the nightly news, makes headlines in daily newspapers and is expressed in fearful ways by school officials, business owners and those who rely on the fuel to power their farm implements and heavy machinery.

The Demercrats(DNC) and Republicrats(RNC) are obviously in the tank for Socialist Progressivism.

Americans have painted themselves into the corner on energy and the two presumptive candidates for President are ready to finish off the nation with the worst possible “solutions.”

As prolongation of the 1930s Depression and stagflation in the 1970s demonstrated, Senator Obama’s announced policies are a prescription for economic disaster.

Today’s most widely accepted political belief is that because an unprecedentedly high percentage of Americans – 81 percent – believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, the Republicans are headed for a major defeat this coming November.

Two Republican lawyers say House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have violated federal election law by appearing in an ad concerning climate change.

One topic we’ll discuss with next week’s panel is the dismal state of affairs at the Federal Election Commission (FEC). The agency charged with enforcing our campaign finance laws has been moribund by the failure of the Senate to confirm pending nominations that would give the Commission its quorum (it currently has only two of six members). Senate Democrats oppose Republican FEC nominee Hans von Spakovsky because he allegedly refused to attack voter identification laws while at the Department of Justice. Liberal opposition to his nomination has not diminished even in the face of the recent Supreme Court decision which upheld the right of states to require some form of identification for voters. As a result, Republicans have refused to budge on Democratic nominees to the FEC, which is supposed to be made up of Democrat and Republican appointees.

Senator John McCain gave a speech recently on the need to appoint judges that interpret laws rather than legislate from the bench. There was a lot to like about what he had to say on judicial activism. McCain said, “The moral authority of our judiciary depends on judicial self restraint,” and railed against the “systematic abuse” by judges who push their liberal agendas through judicial fiat. He also took issue with “Senate obstructionism” practiced by liberals who are blocking the president’s judicial nominees. The speech seems designed to help McCain firm up his conservative base.
