The University of Toledo (UT) has sent a message - loud and clear - to potential employees and students: African-American Christians need not apply.

It’s a claim that liberals make as easily as the rest of us breathe: If you don’t blindly throw infinite piles of money at public K-12 education, you hate children. Never mind that the worst thing any loving parent could do to their child is turn them over to the state to be “educated.” That’s an idea right out of the Soviet Union and Karl Marx’s writings.

Unassisted this year by a media blitz, the May-1st-amnesty marches for illegal aliens limped along American streets. In previous years, the media hype surrounding this issue commanded the nation’s attention. When I taught in Texas, my students found the demonstrations more urgent than their novel The Great Gatsby.

On April 25, adult homosexual activists with the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network held their annual “Day of Silence,” or DOS, propaganda push. During DOS, teachers and students in roughly 3,000 middle schools, high schools and colleges across the country are cynically used as culture-war pawns in an effort to legitimize conventionally immoral, objectively deviant and demonstrably high-risk sexual behaviors.

While waiting to speak at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee last night, I was given a tour of the Student Union, the venue for my talk. The Union building also houses the offices of student clubs, funded by mandatory student fees. On the bulletin board outside the office of the Muslim Students’ Association a flyer was posted, which was part of a campaign against my appearance. It was titled “Getting to Know David Horowitz,” and featured a section headed “Who is David Whorowitz?” At the top of the page was an anti-Semitic caricature of a Jew in the classic style familiar from the Nazi posters of the 1930s, which have become ubiquitous in the Arab world. The Jew in the caricature was standing in a garbage can with the cover on his head, dressed in a Nazi uniform, with an armband marked “H” for “Horowitz,” and the caption read “Horowitz Awareness Week.” This is the central of the tropes of the Muslim Students’ Association campaign on college campuses across the country: Jews are Nazis. “Bring your white sheets and brown shirts and COME ON DOWN! Flaming crosses and Stars of David will be supplied to those who arrive early.”

Did you catch the video this week of a student kicking the stuffing out of an art teacher in Baltimore, Maryland while the rest of the class cheered the pounding on? Y’know, if that teacher was moi, and some F-bomb dropping Darwinian throwback came over my desk to accost me, I’d grab my handy dandy scissors and plant ‘em in the feral teen’s skullcap, Jason Voorhees style.

This event is set for 105 colleges(1). Leftists are warring against it. The same happened at the first event last year. Ex-Muslim Nonie Darwish at Berkeley was threatened. Other speakers were interrupted.

The superintendent of a public school that sparked a federal lawsuit by teaching homosexuality to children as young as kindergarten has told another worried parent he can review course material, but he has no right to withdraw his child from class during lessons.

Now Arizona must get its own house in order - It looks like Arizona is set to opt out of No Child Left Behind. Arizonans need transparency and accountability in public schooling, but they do not need NCLB.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today blasted a court ruling that endangered homeschooling and homeschoolers statewide.

There comes a time when an institution has been so badly damaged that the best thing to do is to junk it and start over. The American schools have been in trouble for as long as I can remember. It’s worth remembering that the nation has been at risk due to educational failures since 1983 saw the publication of “A Nation at Risk: The Imperative For Educational Reform.” But despite repeated reforms, the public schools of America have continued to get worse by nearly every statistical measure.

The wind of freedom blows, our university motto declares, but perhaps only until someone gets offended.

Migdia Chinea, a Cuban-American screenwriter and actress who has writing credits for the TV series “The Incredible Hulk” and “Superboy,” recently documented how she was attacked and injured by students while she served as a substitute teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

In many cases, attending a 4 year College or University is just a waste of money and time.  Business, Education(Teaching), Law, Medicine and the Sciences are pretty obvious candidates for a 4 year degree and higher degrees.
