In case you haven’t noticed, gas prices are soaring, hiking the cost of food and just about everything else. If you believe Hillary Clinton, the blame for all this lies on the shoulders of those greedy oil companies and their bloated profit margins, a notion that like just about every other snake-oil remedy she tries to peddle is simply not the case.

The usual chorus of environmentalists and editorial writers has chimed in to attack President Bush’s recent speech on climate change. In his address of April 23, he put forth a goal of stopping the growth of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2025.

Financial Times reports “OPEC says oil could hit $200,” up from the record $120 a barrel today. If and when that happens, predicted to be this summer, the $3.50 to $4.00 prices you see at the pumps today will top $5.00 per gallon and you can thank liberal environmentalists for that!

Millions of Africans are dying or facing death; Americans are reeling as gas prices soar, threatening to wreck the economy and drive many into poverty; famine is rearing its ugly head in many areas of the world; and available remedies for these and other serious problems are ignored, ridiculed, or stymied.

With gas prices now yon-side of $3.50 per gallon, wouldn’t it be great to have an extra million barrels of domestic oil flowing daily into the American pipeline?  Blame William Jefferson Clinton, who vetoed a bill in 1995 that would have opened the Alaska reserves that could have been producing much needed domestic energy today.

As food prices soar, and rationing of such things as rice begin, America’s media are finally starting to wake up to the inconvenient truth that ethanol is not the energy panacea folks like Nobel Laureate Al Gore proclaim.

Harlingen, Texas, April 24, 2008:  When I read the newspaper or view the nightly television news shows I can’t help but feel almost uncontrollable anger. And the truth is, I really don’t know where that anger should be directed. I listen to my fellow citizens anguish about the price of fuel, the price of food and sticker shock at everything they want to purchase. They have great concerns about the price of gas at the local station and the cost of milk at the super market.  And they blame the politicians for inaction, along with greedy farmers and Big Oil for high prices.  With their next breath they are crying for more of our corn based ethanol to help lower prices at the pump.  It is enough to make a rational person want to bash his or her head against the nearest hard object in complete frustration.

Opponents of a plan to make the U.S. more secure by building fencing along its porous border with Mexico have gone green, claiming such efforts will harm the environment.

Food riots caused by rising food prices have erupted around the world. Five people died in uprisings in Haiti, perhaps the first of many casualties to come from the fad of being “green.”

Close the loophole that is forcing American food and fuel prices ever higher.

To save mankind requires the wholesale rejection of environmentalism as hatred of science, technology, progress, and human life.

Greenies in league with Demercrats and other Progressives have managed to create a world shortage of food.

A shale formation stretching North Dakota and Montana may have an estimated 3.0 to 4.3 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil, according to a U.S. Geological Survey assessment.

George Bush appears to have beaten Al Gore again.
