Bill Clinton was back on CNN on World AIDS Day being portrayed as an expert on how to stop AIDS. It shows how the media will not let any of Clinton’s sex scandals interfere with his public rehabilitation. The Clinton answer, which is quite unique, is to use an international airline tax to buy more anti-AIDS drugs of dubious value.

All the fuss over Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) and his possible presidential candidacy is hard to explain. He is a recently elected junior Senator. Under normal circumstances his candidacy would be considered premature at best and hubristic at worst. So why the fawning treatment, especially by the media?

On December 4, then Speaker-Elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued a statement protesting the lifting of a presidential moratorium protecting Alaska’s Bristol Bay from oil and gas exploration. Rep. Pelosi had to reach back to the Exxon Valdez oil spill of 1989 to find a reason why this energy-rich area should not be opened to exploration.

Celebrated libertarian analyst Albert Jay Nock’s 1945 review of George Bernard Shaw’s Everybody’s Political What’s What exposes the fundamental flaw in socialism and its American liberal-progressive doctrine.  As we begin a new Congress dominated by liberal-socialist-progressives, it is useful to have Mr. Nock’s perspective.

Those of you who’ve read my work over the years know I don’t trust what we loosely refer to as the “mainstream media.” As we’re talking about human beings, we’re talking about people who have opinions on various issues. The problem is that those in that media have the power to shape an issue to suit an agenda based on those personal opinions. The Washington Post ombudsman, Deborah Howell, has written an article entitled, “Media ‘Liberalism’ Under the Microscope,” in which she suggests that journalists are not as liberal as we may think. I wrote her an email applauding her for addressing the problem but correcting her misunderstanding of the issue. It just so happens that I had completed my master’s thesis on liberal bias in the media. I am still hoping she takes a look at what I found.

Will Hillarycare Be Returning? - In 1993, Bill Clinton proposed a health care reform package plan to provide Universal Healthcare for all Americans. The proposed package was over 1,000 pages, yet buried in those pages were restrictions and aspects of the plan which were truly troubling. The plan aimed to cut the number of doctors (called ‘cost centers’) by one quarter in order to cut demand by limiting supply.  It also aimed to cut costs by cutting the number of specialists in half.
