Why intellectuals evangelize
Culture Wars
Offsite
Liberalism will always fail because it will always collapse upon the weight of its own immorality. ~ Anonymous—I consider myself a conservative intellectual, a thinker who holds philosophical ideas out the Judeo-Christian traditions of intellectual thought. That said, without fail when I write an article about the diabolical influence of Darwin’s theory of evolution on society, I get some of the most reactionary, incoherent rants from the liberal blogosphere.

‘MilesTones Saturday Night Special--Where Are Famed Hens?’
Culture Wars
Rev. Austin Miles
The recent Prayer Breakfast in D.C. for the first time became a political event as Obama told why gays should be able to serve openly in the military. The setting, a prayer breakfast to honor God, was the wrong place to proclaim such ideas. Even a touch of class would have dictated propriety at that event. The One also said that he prays for our nation, which is about as sincere as an undertaker trying to look sad at a $10,000 funeral.

Tebow Brings Out the Best in Us
Culture Wars
Kevin Roeten
Despite resistance from women’s groups, and other far left organizations, Tim Tebow and his mom had a commercial run by CBS during the Super Bowl. It discussed how, being pregnant with Tim, his mom came down with Amoebic dysentery. Doctors in the Philippines told Pam (mom) she needed to abort, because all the strong medications she took may have caused irrreversible damage to Tim. Pam refused, Tim was born, and was the leader of the Florida Gator football team for the past three years.

Welfare Skanks, Obama Effigies and French Thought Police: Headline Potpourri #12
Culture Wars
Frederick Meekins
Albert Mohler’s sidekick Russel Moore denounced the Obama Effigy as “Satanic”. Was this theologian as outspoken in condemning similar outrageous attacks against other political figures such President Bush and Sarah Palin? More importantly, would he now care to speak out against the Founding Fathers for similar protests against King George during the Revolutionary War, or is this form of protest only immoral when directed against a Black person?

Harry Reid Is No Skin Off Obama’s Nose
Culture Wars
Aaron Goldstein
When it was revealed that Senator Harry Reid had said during the 2008 Presidential campaign that Barack Obama was “light skinned” and had “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one” I had to scratch my head. This, after all, is the man who only last month likened Republican opposition to Obamacare to opposition to the abolition of slavery. (1)

MilesTones: Saturday Night Special - Brrr! Al Gore’s Global Warming is about to freeze us to death. Even hearty Germans are shivering in the the coldest climate seen in 25 years. All of Florida is freezing. Yes, Ireland and Scotland too. But not to worry. Gore’s global tax supporters in the scientific community have issued a statement that the chilling temperatures and record snow falls are directly connected to the effects of global warming. (!) That should clear things up..

Rectal Bombs, Bono Dreck And Obama Full Of It: Headline Potpourri #9
Culture Wars
Frederick Meekins
Travelers often grumble about security measures at airports requiring them to remove belts and shoes as precautions to detect explosives. Such inconveniences may seem like something from the quaint past in light of a new strategy developed by Al Qaeda. An attack was carried out against the Saudi head of counterterrorism operations by concealing nearly a pound of explosives inside a bomber’s rectum. The device was detonated by cell phone. It is believed instructions on how to carry out such an attack will soon be posted online.

When Barack Obama said that the Henry Louis Gates affair was a teaching moment, he spoke truly. But the key is ensuring that the right things are taught and the right people learn. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen.

Culture Wars
John David Powell
The hot and miserable August weather has moved indoors in many cities and towns across our land. Moved indoors and taken the form of recriminating rhetoric as neighbors and ideologies square off in shout fests billed as informational town hall meetings about changes to healthcare coverage and care.
