If we Americans have learned nothing about Islam since 9-11, we at least have all been exposed to the belief that slain terrorists will receive as their reward 72 beautiful virgins with whom to spend eternity (or, more precisely, 70 virgins and two human wives from this life). 

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s fourth and latest report on the state of scientific knowledge on global warming concluded that human activity - primarily increased greenhouse gas concentrations due to fossil-fuel burning - is “very likely” responsible for the overall increase in global surface temperatures.

Well, here I go again writing about Oprah.  I’m only doing it because of the overwhelming response I received from a previous article, Oprah Peddling Snake Oil. [1] In my article I stated the “inconvenient truth” about Oprah.  She is not a Christian, although she says she is.  My comment elicited a host of angry emails from liberals criticizing me for “judging Oprah.”

As February came to an end, a page one story in my local daily was headlined, “Retired teachers told: Medical bills on state.” In what was described as “a side deal with the state teacher’s union” New Jersey’s Governor Jon Corzine had agreed that taxpayers would pick up their share of the bill cited at $53.6 billion!

The Kashmir dispute makes the Crusades look like a family argument. Being the oldest, unresolved, international conflict in the world, the squabble between India and Pakistan over who owns this snippet of land could turn that part of Asia into a living hell. Or rather, a dead hell, since both countries have nuclear weapons, and they hate each other with a passion hotter than Britney’s diary.

One of my favorite talk radio hosts is Glenn Beck. On a recent show, he expressed his frustration at Congress and said that no one can understand Congress. Given the fact that Congress employs a lot of people who would be otherwise worthless in the real world, I tend to agree. But enough about the Senate Democrats.

Liberals know what they want to do and they know where they want to take the rest of us. The problem is that they just don’t have any idea exactly how what they want to do is useful in getting us there.  This puts me in mind of one of the more hilarious episodes of South Park where Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny along with Tweek discover the ever industrious “Underpants Gnomes”. 

Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton received a sustained standing ovation Thursday night, as he told a national conference of conservatives that “reform” of the United Nations had failed and that the U.S. has to assume a radically different approach to funding the world organization. He called for an end to “assessed contributions” to the U.N. and urged a completely voluntary system of paying for the activities of the world body. Bolton’s proposal leaves open the distinct possibility that an objective assessment would determine that it does not deserve one red cent in “voluntary” support from American taxpayers.

Mala Salvatrucha, or MS-13, member Walter Noel Barahona, also known as “Lil Loco,” 23, a Maryland resident, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to conspiracy to conduct and participate in the racketeering activities of a branch of the MS-13 gang.

If you want to shut down a debate, simply call your opponent a Nazi. It’s quick, easy and requires no thought whatsoever. Laugh at your opponent without allowing him to speak. Oh, and make a film about your point of view and name it “The Truth.”
