On December 4, then Speaker-Elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued a statement protesting the lifting of a presidential moratorium protecting Alaska’s Bristol Bay from oil and gas exploration. Rep. Pelosi had to reach back to the Exxon Valdez oil spill of 1989 to find a reason why this energy-rich area should not be opened to exploration.
Chief Justice John Roberts Is Completely Out of Touch With American People
Elitists
Dave Gibson
Chief Justice John Roberts recently issued a report to Congress in which he claimed that the salary for federal judges is woefully inadequate. Roberts even went so far as to tell Congress that the issue of low pay “has now reached the level of a constitutional crisis.” He made this claim despite the fact that U.S. District Court judges currently make $165,200 annually.
New Year’s Resolutions for Other People: The 2007 Edition
General
Thomas Lindaman
Well, it’s that time of year again when people decide to make major life changes because it’s the beginning of a new year. Some people resolve to lose weight. Others resolve to stop smoking. Still others resolve to stop looking for naked photos of Rue McClanahan on the Internet. (I know that last one’s gonna be tough for me to do.)
America Must Win…
Demercrats
John Ross
Ever since the American people let the socialist weenies that now call themselves “liberals” influence the way we fight a hot war, the results have always been the same… The bad-guys who can’t win on the battlefield, squeeze concessions out of us at the negotiating table. We allowed them to do it to us in Korea, Vietnam, and it looks like the “liberal” Democrats will try to orchestrate a deal with Iran and Syria so these terrorist sponsoring states also humiliate America. Humiliating America will be tragic enough, however, the problem is the terrorists will follow our troops to our streets and schools killing and destroying anything that stands in their way.

The Washington Post reported that on November 27, a group of imams, ministers and a rabbi staged a pray-in at Reagan National Airport. The group of religious leaders staged the pray-in to “demanded an apology from US Airways for removing six Muslim clerics from a Minneapolis-to-Phoenix flight.” The religious leaders involved in the pray-in were reported to be calling for an end to racial profiling. But that’s not what this case was all about. And even if it was, racial profiling was still justified.
What We Can Learn From Indians
General
James T. Moore
Whether living in tribes in the mountains, on the plains, in the forests, or near the coast, American Indians believed, and still do, that all mankind has a unique relationship with everything in nature, and especially with the Divine Power that created all things.

Nock on Shaw’s Socialism
Progressivism
Thomas Brewton
Celebrated libertarian analyst Albert Jay Nock’s 1945 review of George Bernard Shaw’s Everybody’s Political What’s What exposes the fundamental flaw in socialism and its American liberal-progressive doctrine. As we begin a new Congress dominated by liberal-socialist-progressives, it is useful to have Mr. Nock’s perspective.
CNN’s Obama Infomercial
Progressivism
Bob Parks
Those of you who’ve read my work over the years know I don’t trust what we loosely refer to as the “mainstream media.” As we’re talking about human beings, we’re talking about people who have opinions on various issues. The problem is that those in that media have the power to shape an issue to suit an agenda based on those personal opinions. The discipline should be that personal opinions have no place in traditional news reporting.

It’s no secret that Iran, and to a lesser degree, Syria, are responsible for supplying weapons to our enemies in Iraq, as well as encouraging would-be terrorists from their own lands to join the ranks of the blood-thirsty Islamo-fascist militias that our military and the Iraqi Army faces on a daily basis in the area known as the Sunni Triangle.

G.W. Bush has the “horse apples” pitch down pat. Which is basically the forte of the creative director of an advertising agency.
The United States Is Just as Violent as Iraq
General
Dave Gibson
The Iraqi government just reported that during 2006, 16,273 soldiers, police officers, and civilians were murdered in that country. In 2005, 16,912 murders took place in the United States. With many major U.S. cities reporting higher murder rates in 2006, we can expect to easily break the 17,000 mark. While the majority of Iraqi homicides were the result of that nation’s many Muslim factions fighting one another for political control, most U.S. murders can be attributed to drugs and gang violence...Considering that fact, Americans may face a more bleak future than will Iraqis.
Enemy Propaganda on Al-Jazeera English
General
Cliff Kincaid
Brent Bozell wrote an excellent column on the launch of Al-Jazeera English, making the point that the liberals who always decry U.S. government-funded “propaganda,” mostly in the form of news releases, don’t mind the Arab government-funded propaganda on this new channel. In fact, many liberal publications have welcomed the prospect of having this propaganda piped directly into American living rooms.
