If you only read the news as reported by the Main Stream Media, you would never know that we had just recently experienced another Jihad style attack by a Muslim on American soil.

At some point in the lives of our aging parents, things slip out of control. It may be a subtle change over time that finally becomes unmanageable or the sudden arrival of a medical setback. As much as we want them to remain independent, events take them off course, and tough decisions need to be made about the quality of their lives. It could be unsafe driving, near accidents at home, poor compliance with medical treatment, financial negligence, or the inability to recover from the loss of a spouse. Regardless of the circumstances, it becomes clear to those who care about them and to those who care for them that something needs to change. The question is howto communicate this urgent andunavoidable need for change? While there are no easy answers, there are three communication strategies that can improve the chances of our aging parents eventually participating in ands uccessfully surviving these tough choices. 

One of the clearest measures of a society can be found in its public school system. For example, it is no accident that in totalitarian states, such as North Korea, what may be taught comes directly from the government. Children are indoctrinated early to believe their “Dear Leader” never is wrong even though many do not have enough food to eat. And in war-torn countries or those which are deeply divided by religious differences there are few, if any, functioning public schools.

How many Americans would vote for a presidential candidate who was the member of a church that professed the following credo?

"No real conservative would ever vote for Giuliani.” “If Giuliani gets the ticket, I’m voting Constitution Party.” “Giuliani is a left-wing radical.” These are the sentiments I’ve heard recently by conservatives.

It was one of those stories that not even a Hollywood scriptwriter could dream up: A NASA astronaut stows a steel mallet, 4-inch knife, rubber tubing, gloves, and trash bags in her car. She straps on an astro-diaper and drives 900 miles to Orlando. During the wee hours of February 6, she disguises herself with a wig, glasses, and trench coat. Confronting her romantic rival in the airport parking lot, she douses Colleen Shipman with pepper spray.

The worst thing about pop culture celebrities is their ever downwardly spiraling behavior. To get noticed they feel they must indulge in ever more outrageous behavior until they end up dead like Anna Nichol Smith or a drunken, debauched mess like the empty-headed Britney Spears. Sadly, the media and the gossip rags eat it up.

Until 1933, the U. S. dollar was the among the strongest and most stable currencies in the world.  With the stroke of a pen, President Franklin Roosevelt torpedoed it.  We are still plagued with the resulting inflation.

Just when we-the-people thought that the US government’s continued persecutions of our US Border Patrol Agents—for doing theor respective jobs—couldn’t get much worse, it did.  Although DHS Inspector General Richard L. Skinner recently admitted to Congress that he and his Agents had lied in their provision of evidence against USBP Agents Compean and Ramos, the officers still remain in federal prison—a prison in which Agent Ramos was released into the prison’s general population and then beaten within an inch of his life via a “hit” fomented by incarcerated illegals.  And, even though Texas Deputy Sheriff Gilmer Hernandez was protecting his life when he fired on a human trafficking coyote who was attempting to run him down with his van, Gilmer was still convicted and sentenced to prison.

The economic barometer has been falling for many months.  Analysts have, with greater frequency of late, expressed fears of a major dollar devaluation.
