English as Our National Language - To Benefit All of Us
Progressivism
Paul M. Weyrich
Like Henry A. Kissinger, former Speaker Newt Gingrich is brilliant out of office. But many observers agree that both left something to be desired. Kissinger said all the correct things about defeating the Communists at their own game of power politics. That caused no less than William F. Buckley to introduce Kissinger to President-elect Richard M. Nixon. Once in office, first as National Security Advisor and later as Secretary of State, Kissinger proved to be a disaster. Gingrich in office was only a disappointment, not a disaster. We now know that there were things in his personal life which at times clouded his vision. Remember, it was conservatives who did him in, not Democrats. After the 1998 election, with its razor-thin victory for Republicans in the House of Representatives, a dozen conservatives informed the Republican Leadership that they would not vote for Gingrich as Speaker under any circumstance. That was when Tom DeLay and others in the GOP Leadership told Gingrich that the ball game was over.
NYTimes Reveals Distrust of ‘Law Abiding’ Citizens
Progressivism
Warner Todd Huston
The New York Times thinks you are a criminal if you own a gun. The editorial writers at the Times simply don’t believe that you could possibly be a law abiding citizen if you are interested in self defense, their most recent anti-gun piece reveals.
“The People Spooked”
Progressivism
Malcolm Hedges
The Demercrats like to say “the people spoke” in November 2006. And they claim “the people” endorsed Progressivism with the vote and they have a mandate to move the country further to the Left as fast as possible.
Union Workers Strike Against Union Bosses

Today, the Center for Union Facts notes the irony of three major union organizations in the “Change to Win” coalition being embroiled in labor disputes — with each other. The Teamsters-organized staff of Canada’s United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union went on strike to protest the UFCW’s proposed use of a two-tiered system in which new employees receive significantly less in wages and benefits than veteran employees.
The Unfairness of the “Fairness Doctrine”

In an effort to quash the free speech rights of wildly popular conservative radio broadcasters, four Democrats are attempting to revive the “Fairness in Broadcasting Act of 1993” (also known as the Fairness Doctrine). Conservative broadcasters, who have considerable influence over their large conservative audience, are some of the few in the media you can turn to if you want to hear opinions in support of our national security policies. Some Democrats don’t like this.
Democrats Unveil Massive Spending Bill

WASHINGTON (AP)—Democrats have unveiled a massive spending bill combining the budgets of 13 Cabinet agencies with increases in aid for lower-income college students, while cutting President Bush’s funding requests for foreign aid and closing military bases.
Bush’s “Progressive” Health Care Proposal
Republicrats
Cliff Kincaid
It is generally conceded that the first President Bush made a fatal error during his presidency when he said, “Read my lips. No new taxes,” and then proceeded to make an agreement with Congressional Democrats to raise taxes. History may be repeating itself. Like his father, President George W. Bush has also proposed raising taxes, despite his reputation as a tax-cutter. Our media have done a good job of highlighting the new tax-raising approach of the administration in the health care arena, saying it resembles something that Democrats might offer, but some conservatives seem to be having difficulty openly acknowledging what their anti-tax President is doing.
Court Rules against ACLU, Protestors in Military Funeral Lawsuit
Progressivism
Jill S. Farrell
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group promotes transparency, accountability and integrity in government, politics and the law, announced today that a U.S. District Court in Missouri denied a request by the American Civil Liberties Union lawyers made on behalf of a member of the Westboro Baptist Church to prevent the state from enforcing its statute limiting protests “in or about” the location of funeral services (Shirley L. Phelps-Roper v. Jeremiah W. Nixon, et al., No. 06-cv-4156-FJG). The ACLU filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the law on behalf of protesters who disrupted military funerals by picketing and conducting other protest activities.

If you miseed the “peace” proests
Progressivism
Doug Hagin
The “peace” marches or protests or whatever you wish to call them certainly showed us a whole lot about the left in America didn’t it? Yes, I would say the scenes and sound bytes from this weekends “peace” protesters did a very good job of showing which side the left is on. Moreover, believe me kids; it is not the side of the troops!

Remember John Wayne? Did you watch him ride his horse alongside a runaway stagecoach? Did you see him leap into the driver’s seat? Once aboard, he turned the horses away from danger.
The Doomsday Clock (gulp) Shows 11:55
Progressivism
James T. Moore
Tick tock, tick tock, goes the Doomsday Clock. Doomsday (at 12 o’clock) means, metaphorically speaking, that all human beings on planet Earth have only five more minutes to live. But don’t jump to any conclusion; or out a window, just yet.
