So, here is a question: Why is CBS using propaganda film originally posted on an al Qaeda website and claiming it is merely “CBS obtained” with no mention of the actual source for Lara Logan’s report on The “Battle of Haifa Street”?

How can a retirement in the Supreme Court change how America thinks? That retirement will happen - it’s happened recently---and it will happen again. But if you talk about the aborting illegally, eyebrows are raised. If the current 5-4 decision on Roe vs. Wade changes, the act of abortion will literally effect how millions of Americans think and act. Interestingly, the head of a judicial watchdog group says he believes that 86 year old Justice John Paul Stevens may retire.

Here we go again. Yet another study on Global Warming, this one conducted by 600 scientists, is due to be released in early February. The new study will supposedly constitute a “smoking gun” in terms of the evidence of Man’s role in the changing climate. The anti-capitalist Left is in all likelihood panting in anticipation.

It’s good to see the right kind of bill moving through Congress for a change.

Americans have historically been reluctant to go to war. When we do, we are generally pretty good at it. In the last century, after electing Woodrow Wilson who promised to keep us out of the European war, we joined our traditional allies, England and France, to stop the Germans. We did it again about twenty years later, but only after a sneak attack by Japan ignited our righteous anger, plunging us into the existing war in Europe and, for us, the new one in the Pacific.

You know the story. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth...and so forth. On the sixth day, God made Man and gave him dominion over the fish, and fowl, and cattle, and every thing that creepeth on the earth. Or so we thought.

The resurrection of Jane Fonda and her socialite worshippers seemingly came from nowhere. All of a sudden we’re trapped in the Vietnam era all over again - or at least that’s the way it seems to be going. It has been said that America could have won the Vietnam war if it had not been for the wrath of the socialist anti-war movement of that depressing and embarrassing era in our history. America was defeated in that war, not by the Communist Vietnamese, but by the equally anti-American and highly brainwashed youth of that time. It was on college campuses that normal, ordinary youth were turned into stark raving maniacs hell bent on the path to making America lose a war against socialism and communism while all at the same time turning America to liberalism.

Not satisfied with calling US troops stupid, via his now infamous 2006 remarks, the European wannabee Sen. John Kerry has now blasted the entire United States of America.  But, then he also did that in the 1970s.  Speaking from one of the “world’s stages”, this time in Davos, Switzerland, Kerry firmly placed his horsy hoof in his mouth - again - when he referred to the United States as “a sort of international pariah .” Note:  John Kerry is one of the few US citizens who actually is a pariah.

One of the most impressive ideas I’ve ever heard was put forth by Christopher Hitchens in his book Letters to a Young Contrarian. He believes that we always profit from debating our opponents as the act of responding to one another propels us towards the ultimate truth. Based on my experiences, Hitchens is absolutely right. Just as doing sets of bench presses cause our muscles to grow, the mind is strengthened by the process of intellectual exchange. Interaction with our enemies makes us fitter. 

About two years ago, I became a volunteer reading instructor in a local public school. I wanted to teach kids to read for a few reasons. First, I think reading is a magic door that opens children’s eyes to the world. Second, I was completing my second book, “Public Schools, Public Menace: How Public Schools Lie To Parents and Betray Our Children.” I thought I needed some hands-on experience in the trenches.

Led by the anti-Bush faction at NBC News, the mainstream media are trying to turn the trial of Lewis “Scooter” Libby, the former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, into another indictment of the administration’s Iraq policy. But NBC’s Tim Russert and other media personalities are the ones really on trial, having themselves been implicated in uncertain knowledge of a phony “scandal” about who knew what and when regarding Ambassador Joseph Wilson’s CIA wife, Valerie Plame. You can bet the media will do their best to keep coverage of this trial away from how the Wilson/Plame controversy was completely mishandled by the press and how prominent journalists have memory problems about details in the case that make their own changing stories extremely questionable.
