Illegal Alien Drug Smugglers Now Have “Civil Rights” - The imprisonment of two Border Patrol agents for shooting an illegal Mexican alien who was attempting to smuggle 750 lbs of marijuana into the country, has prompted outrage among those who have kept up with this saga. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R- Cal) called President Bush a “disgrace” for refusing to pardon the agents. The President, apparently feeling the pressure, indicated Thursday that a pardon may be possible, saying “There’s a process for pardons”.

In “The Historical Roots of ‘Political Correctness,’ author Raymond V. Raehn observed that America is “dominated by an alien system of beliefs, attitudes, and values that we have come to know as ‘Political Correctness.’ Political Correctness seeks to impose a uniformity of thought and behavior on all Americans and is therefore totalitarian in nature.  Its roots lie in a version of Marxism which seeks a radical inversion of the traditional culture in order to create a social revolution."(1)

Last Friday we held our Conservative State of the Union forum, the continuation of a successful series of broadcast and usually telecast panel discussions. It draws a big response. Many people appreciate that the Free Congress Foundation puts forth a conservative viewpoint independent of Congress and the White House. People may disagree with this or that policy of the Bush Administration and of the last Congress. Many conservatives now realize that things could be worse given that the leadership of Congress is now in the hands of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-NV).

While most of the focus of federal law enforcement today is on counterterrorism, federal police agencies must still contend with more traditional anti-crime operations including emerging organized crime gangs.

As required by the U.S. Constitution, President Bush will deliver the “State of the Union” speech on Tuesday evening.  The Bush speech will be annunciated in Texan--that is, pidgin English with a drawl.

Last week jury selection got underway in the trial of I. Lewis Libby, Jr., the former chief of staff to Vice President Cheney.  Libby is accused of lying to a grand jury and the FBI investigating who leaked the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame to the media.  Plame’s name first appeared in a July 14, 2003 column by Robert Novak, indicating that she worked at the CIA and was married to former ambassador and Iraq war critic Joseph C. Wilson IV.

Arizona Congressional Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), a former Green Party member, has proposed a law that would stop US citizens from protecting their property and lives from illegal aliens who cross the US-Mexico border.  Although directed at the citizen organization The Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, Sinema’s proposed HB2286 states that “domestic terrorism” shall include:  “An individual or group of individuals commits domestic terrorism if the individual or group of individuals are not affiliated with a local, state or federal law enforcement entity and associate with another individual or group of individuals as an organization, group, corporation or company for the purpose of patrolling to detect alleged illegal activity or to individually patrol for the purpose of detecting alleged illegal activity and if the individual or group of individuals is armed with a firearm or other weapon.”

If the 1976 western The Last Hard Men has it right, we Occidentals metamorphosed into jellyfish sometime around the early twentieth century.  Although this title is more movie marketing than historical statement, there may be something to it.  After all, Robert Baden-Powell, a lieutenant general in the British Army, was motivated by the belief that western boys were becoming too soft when he originated the Boy Scouts in 1907.

Be prepared for more demands for tax increases to fund the ‘Progressive Indoctrination System’, sometimes call Public Education or Public Schools.

When Do We Say “Uncle,” and Get A Life? - Are we hypnotized, or mesmerized? Can an entire civilization possess a death wish? Can Americans, by our own apathy, encourage our own destruction? Last week I wrote that when gun control people view violence as a health problem, their political interference with self-defense essentially denies emergency health care for the victims of violence. It’s like stealing someone’s life-saving medicine in the name of being anti-violent. Just as ineffectual and just as wrong.

According to our Constitution the judicial power of the United States shall be vested in one Supreme Court and in lower courts as established by Congress.
