How Jury Nullification Can End the Sick War on Drugs - “Look, Mr. Straun, John, can I call you John? We’ve been at this for 25 days. We’re all sick of this. We all want to go home. You’re the only one left. You’re the one keeping us here. I got things to do at home. I got to go to work and make a living. All of us do. The judge is mad as hell at us. You’re going to hang this jury. You’re going to make this three-month trial into a farce and waste of time. You have no right to vote acquittal. You heard the judge’s instructions. The jury is not allowed to judge the law, only the facts.”

Phil Rosenthal of the Chicago Tribune notes the strange decision by NBC to put its NBC News logo and the NBC peacock, “in all its multicolored glory,” on the videos and photos that it released of Virginia Tech mass murderer Cho Seung Hui. This is one strange network that seems to have no moral compass whatsoever. It fires Don Imus, under pressure from the left-wing Media Matters group, Al Sharpton and its own host, Keith Olbermann, when the words, though offensive, didn’t actually hurt anybody in the physical sense. But it then gives a national platform to the hateful words and images of someone who killed 32 people, on the dubious pretext that we need to understand the twisted mind of a demented killer.

Thanks to the Supreme Court, we are going to experience more little Progressives in the world.  In the last many years Progressives have been practicing self-extermination via abortion.

Cho Seung-Hui did not live the life he wanted. But on Monday, on the Blacksburg campus of Virginia Tech, Cho ended his life the way he wanted. And because of those two hours of slaughter and suicide, Cho attained the immortality he craved.

In response to charges in my new book, “Stop the Presses! The Inside Story of the New Media Revolution,” that the Society of Environmental Journalists is one of several activist pressure groups working inside America’s newsrooms, I received a letter from the president of the group. 

Ever since the Democrat-run US Senate’s unanimous January 2007 confirmation of Lt. General David Petraeus’ position to the new US forces commander in Iraq, the Democrat senators have been fighting against both the General and our troops.  House Majority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) traveled to terrorist-run Syria, with her assortment of submission-scarves to wear before the throne of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.  Pelosi believes conversations with, and lending credibility to, countries that train and support terrorist-factions (as well as vowing to destroy the USA) is the good and appropriate thing to do.  Then, in regards to meeting with the more powerful terrorist leader Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA) issued the jubilant and begging-Iran statement:  “Speaking just for myself, I would be ready to get on a plane tomorrow morning [to Iran], because however objectionable, unfair and inaccurate many of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s statements are...it is important that we have a dialogue with him.  Speaking for myself, I’m ready to go!  And knowing the speaker [Pelosi], I think that she might be!”

To hear the mainstream news media tell it, the only issue really in play in the 2008 Presidential election is the war in Iraq.

College of William & Mary President Gene Nichol, who created a furor by arbitrarily ordering a Christian cross removed from the school’s historic Wren Chapel, is “unfit” for office and his contract should not be renewed, according to an editorial by the staff of The Virginia Informer, the independent student newspaper at the school.

We also believe that a precondition for our winning this conflict is to take the fight to the enemy wherever he may be.”

So Don Imus has been fired from his radio show, and all is well in the world.  We all know about the maelstrom that developed around the aging shock jock, who has found out how loose lips sink ships, in this case his own.  But even though his is a vessel I never would have christened, I find a certain conclusion inescapable here.  I must defend Don Imus.

So the State of North Carolina is finally officially recognizing what has been blatantly obvious to every honest and objective observer of the Duke Lacrosse Team debacle since it first made national news. The supposed rape never occurred. Crystal Gail Mangum, the accuser, fabricated her victimization. And Durham County Prosecutor Michael Nifong willingly collaborated in the scam by deliberately suppressing decisive evidence that would have instantly vindicated the accused players.

I alluded to this point briefly in this week’s radio spot, and I think it imperative that a discussion be initiated on another reason for the Virginia Tech shooting that will be avoided by mainstream media analysis: the need for Teacher Control.

There was a day in the United States when the citizens of this great nation celebrated intelligence in those whom they raised to the level of “celebrity”. It was a day when cogent thoughts were related in high style, where literacy and learning were prized, a day when to be “smart” meant to actually have some sort of culture and ability to write. To achieve fame one had to exhibit some level of education even if it was one realized by one’s own efforts alone, an amalgamation of knowledge not the result of a program from an institute of higher learning. The general public in America once looked up to people who embodied the highest education, even that had from the veritable slate in a log cabin.
