Lincoln Chafee was the bane of conservative talk radio when he was the RINO Senator from Rhode Island. Now that he is a newly minted “independent” and has become the Governor of the Ocean State, Chafee is in a position to take his revenge on the medium. And boy has this petty man used his power to do just that by banning his state employees from talking to talk radio.

The funerals have begun in Tucson, including that of a 9 year old girl, Christina Taylor Green. Ironically, this little innocent third grader was born on a day of violence, September 11, 2001, and she died on a day of violence, Saturday, January 8, 2011.

At at one point not too long ago I called Glenn Beck possibly “the great conservative hope"(1).  But I will freely admit that the man drives me bonkers when he goes off into his own little world of self-reflection.  Not only am I certain that he knows the location of each and every piece of lint in the crevasses of his bellybutton, but I am also convinced he has given each of them names and converses with them regularly.

"When the rhetoric about hatred, about mistrust of government, about paranoia of how government operates, and to try to inflame the public on a daily basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, has impact on people especially who are unbalanced personalities,” said Pima County, Arizona’s Democrat sheriff Clarence Dupnik.

An assassination attempt was made against an Arizona Congresswoman. What freedoms will Americans be coerced into surrendering as a result? In a press conference, the sheriff there has already blamed talk radio for the tragedy.

There were two reasons for the election of President Obama.  One, after two and a half terms of Bush the Younger, and a Republican shopaholic Congress and half a term with a Democratic shopaholic Congress people were desperate for change.  And two, the economy hit a speed bump in September of 2008.  Candidate Obama promised to control spending so our free economy could create new jobs.  President Obama has so far delivered the greatest spending binge(1) in world history.

Does anyone on the left understand right and wrong? Do any of them understand that some things humans do are morally reprehensible or is everything relative? If we could find one that understands it, it certainly won’t be Colman McCarthy. We can say this because this week the former Washington Post columnist and current director for the farcical Washington-based “Center for Teaching Peace” said that he “admires” people who “join armies” and, revealing his moral ignorance, he said he even admires those that join the Taliban’s “army.”

Textbooks used in some Virginia public schools are rife with errors including getting the number of states in the Confederacy wrong and grossly understating the number of casualties at the two battles of Bull Run, The Washington Post reports.

Some of you may have missed this story since it was published on the day after Christmas (and a Sunday at that), but Obama’s death panels are back(1), this time via the president’s fiat regulatory powers. Since it was easy to have missed, I’ve decided to post the story today (Monday) so that more people might see it now that Christmas and the weekend both are over.
