Some Media May Be Aligned with the Iraqi Terrorists
Terrorism item by Kevin Roeten

Nobody ever thought this would happen. Americans actually siding with terrorists to get the story? Can America be that separated in opinion where a portion is actually hoping that the enemy actually ‘wins’ a war, that the killing of American troops proves a point, and that America should never be involved in a particular conflict? You bet. And it’s unfolding before us on our TV screens.

“Wait. Wait. He fell down. God is great!” This is from one of the terrorist snipers narrated by the voice of Michael Ware(CNN correspondent). This is footage shown on TV was taken by an Islamofascist of the murder of an American soldier in Iraq. On 10/18/06, CNN began airing terrorist propaganda video, namely “Anderson Cooper 360”. This was supposedly done through intermediaries from the Islamic Army of Iraq. One tape, titled “Latest Sniper Operations in Baghdad” contains sniper hits on 10 US servicemen. Ten US soldiers actually die before our eyes. Being clearly impressed with this sniper video, Ware delivers his voiceover, “These [sniper] teams…make an intimidating weapon.” He praises one sniper as “extremely patient”, and characterizes the source of the videotape as “one of the most active insurgent organizations of the country.”

Most telling is the nonverbal signs given by the newsmen. There is no anger in their voices, no pain, no catch in the throat, no clenched teeth as American after American falls. CNN does not provide a single negative word about what the viewer is witnessing.  It’s no surprise that CNN aired this video three weeks before the election. AP actually reports that the tape “came to the network unexpectedly through contact with an insurgent leader.”

This all-to-familiar scenario played itself out with AP last summer. An AP photographer had been captured in Ramadi with al-Qaeda terrorists and a cache of weapons. The AP photographer tested positive for bomb-making materials, and is being held under charges of ‘colluding with terrorists’. It all started in April(2006) when Michele Malkin(TownHall), with a tip from an anonymous military source in Iraq, raised questions about his relationships with terrorists, and some of his photos that seemed ‘staged’. The photographer was mentioned by AP five months later, but after a communiqué from an American general in Iraq about his capture, and after he was deemed a security threat because this photographer “had strong ties to known terrorists”.

Let’s be very clear as to what has transpired. It seems obvious that several well known American news agencies have mysterious and/or strong ties to radical Islamic networks. These agencies have demonstrated strong contempt for the war. Without remorse, they’ve actually shown Americans being killed by Islamic terrorists. To most of us, the death of an American soldier is a sacred thing. Many remember the recent movie “Remember the Titans”, where Abraham Lincoln knew the time and place was to be honored, and proclaimed their tombs to be “hallowed ground”, consecrated with blood.

What can the parents of these slain soldiers think after seeing this footage? Do these detractors actually believe that the terrorists/insurgents have a legitimate grievance? On one website featuring the CNN sniper video, multiple comments from American viewers blame Bush, and empathize with the snipers.

It seems obvious that these news organizations(if truly pro-American) would report any sniper activity, would not associate with any terrorist organizations, would do anything remotely possible to stop Americans from being killed, would begin to report on some of the positives of this Islamic conflict, and would give those fighting and dying for their protection some kind of respect. Maybe being American does not fit into their vocabulary. But why would some Americans give that kind of action any credence whatsoever?
