These days we hear much about a New World Order. Both proponents and opponents of the NWO, however, are barking up the wrong tree, whether they know it or not.

Not only are they wrong about the concept of a New World Order, that is, a political, philosophical, even theosophical merging of all nations into a single entity “governed” by an elite group of intellectual “giants” who believe they have the inherent authority to rule the world and all the human beings in it, but they are also wrong in believing that a New World Order is something unique on our planet.

Some politically naïve or social-innocents believe that NWO advocates and promoters are desperately attempting to accomplish the impossible, i.e. bring all the inhabitants in every nation on earth together in a kind of hand-holding, love-thy-neighbor world of global peace, plenty, and prosperity; where arguments are rare, factions are non-existent, and wars have long since gone the way of the dinosaurs.

If they believe that, Lord help them, they believe in the tooth fairy.

On the other hand, politically savvy NWO proponents may well have a sinister and dangerous motive, or visions of stardom on the stage of a hegemonic production, using the U.S.A. as a convenient and powerful prop. They may or may not struggle in vain, but in any case they are treading the wrong path along with the first group.

Why do I say this? Because, as a gentleman in California reminded me recently, our world has already been blessed with a New World Order but neither of the two groups seems to be aware of it.

Look at it this way.  Since Genesis until today this beautiful world has been the victim-observer of more chaos, tragedy, turmoil, assassinations, feuds, manslaughter, and senseless wars than any history book can keep track of. And I mean from the Hittites plundering Babylon in 2000 B.C.; the Huns invading Europe in 369 A.D; and the Civil War in Germany in 1540--- to the U.S. Civil war in 1861; World War I in 1914; World War II in 1941; Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1999; the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003; and all the bloody centuries in-between.

And what was the purpose of all this perennial bloodletting? In short terms: tyranny, conquest, greed, heir-dom, hegemony, vengeance, you name it, they made war over it.

But then, in 1775, the mostly English subjects in this land began a revolt against the very nature of Man’s evil tendencies of making serfs, subjects, and underlings of their fellowmen, and the American Revolutionary War against the tyrannical rule of the English Crown (all crowns, really) began.

The Founders of America didn’t know it at the time but what they were fighting for, against all odds, was literally a New World Order--- freedom from past centuries of servitude, bondage, and control by despotic and cruel kings, emperors, potentates, chieftains, and overlords of every stripe.

The New World Order which the Founders of America created replaced tyranny with freedom, servility with independence, subservience with self-determination, and groupthink with individual thought and action.

To say that our Founding Fathers didn’t realize at the time that they were creating a new, non-subservient way of life and a totally different way of looking at the world, should hardly come as a surprise. Even most American citizens in the year of our Lord 2007 still don’t realize that we are already enjoying a New World Order. And that that New World Order is drastically different from the one preached to us by the neo-conservatives in our government today.

So give no credence to the naïve mutterings of people who swallow the glib talk of a New World Order by misled political pitchmen, or from their “honorable colleagues” with the exact same pitch but with devious agendas.

Most Americans do not remember that we’ve had a New World Order since 1775; that brought us freedom, independence, ethics, morals, neighborliness, and truth,

But WE remember, and it’s our right, our privilege and our duty to defend and protect it against all comers.
