According to SEATTLE TIMES medical reporter Warren King in “State to check on residents’ health” (July 20, 2006), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has heavily financed surveys (NOT using volunteers) in Washington State, Kansas and Arkansas that ask detailed personal health questions about diet, medication, other risks for disease, and a blood sample will be taken (from which DNA can be obtained?). Specifically regarding mental health, Kathryn Power, the director of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (which administers the New Freedom Commission on Mental Health recommendations), in a 2003 speech revealed that mental health assessments are increasingly conducted in “non-mental health” places such as child care settings.

The organization EdWatch has reported that “all children” in Illinois “are to receive social and emotional screens and the schools are to incorporate social and emotional standards as part of the state’s learning standards.” Working with EdWatch, Dr. Karen Effrem has charged that “some mental and violence-prevention programs are already labeling children as mentally ill or potentially violent based on political and religious criteria.” All 33 Articles
